Charlie
Corneal Puncture
This adorable 10 month old Golden Retriever is Charlie. He was playing outside when his owner heard him yelp. Upon his return, he was squinting his right eye. He presented to our Ophthalmologist, Dr. Accola. Charlie was diagnosed with a full thickness corneal puncture and lens laceration. It is suspected that a plant foreign body pierced into the eye. Surgery was performed to repair the corneal wound. The lens laceration was relatively small and allowed to heal on its own. Charlie has recovered beautifully and his vision is normal. We are so happy he is doing well!
