FLUTD
Mojo can relax now that he's feeling better! This lovely 5 year old cat couldn't urinate. He had a large, painful bladder when he arrived. FLUTD or feline lower urinary tract disease is not a specific diagnosis; rather, the name FLUTD refers to the many symptoms that can occur as a result of problems involving the urinary bladder and urethra, the narrow tube that empties the bladder. Common signs include urinating outside of the litter box, discolored or bloody urine, straining to urinate, pain when urinating, or an inability to urinate at all. Mojo had a urinary catheter placed, was given IV fluids and blood work was also completed. After a short stay with us, Mojo was able to go home and is doing just fine!
