TOPIC: STAT Means NOW! Technicians' Guide to Triaging and Stabilizing Critical Patients

Critical patients show up usually unannounced or disguised under benign symptoms. Technicians will usually be the first responders of your medical team, and should be ready to recognize symptoms of critical conditions and have strategies for stabilizing these patients. We will be discussing common critical conditions like GDV, hemoabdomens, traumas, heat stroke and more, going through symptoms to note, information needed to help assess the patient, and treatment steps to take to help technicians work with their doctors so a plan is in place on how to react in these scenarios when seconds matter.
